CJ’s Cafe invites community to fundraiser

YALE — As everyone in town knows, CJ’s Cafe is going through difficult times. 

A watermain break in early July dampened plans for a post-vacation reopening, and the restaurant isn’t quite ready to reopen.

Closed since July 14, the staff has been without income for weeks, prompting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at 8 p.m. Sept. 12 at Yale VFW Hall, 4 W. Mechanic St.

CJ’s fundraiser team is seeking local business and vendor donations like gift certificates and baskets, products, handmade items, services, and experiences.

“Every contribution will help us support the CJ’s Cafe staff and remind them that their community stands behind them,” Jessica Williams wrote in a flier on behalf of the fundraiser team.
