CJ’s restaurant reopens after 3-month closure

YALE — CJ’s Restaurant announced in a social media post that the Yale business is reopening its doors Oct. 14 following a roughly three-month closure.

The business faced a rocky road to reopen following a water main burst on July 14. Water poured down from the ceiling, seeping under the dining hall floorboards. Asbestos was discovered in the restaurant over the summer, which required additional work.

CJ’s then hosted a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Sept. 12.

New posted hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

“We ask that everyone show us a bit of patience and grace as we get back in the swing of things,” owner Liz Dabney wrote on Facebook. “Hours are based on our ability to completely restock our restaurant and resources while we get back on our feet financially! Thank you everyone! Hope to see you all soon!”
