Perimeter fence erected around blighted Yale home after months of neglect

YALE — A mortgage company holding the deed to a derelict home at 222 Morrell St. has installed a perimeter fence around the property in an effort to bring the site into compliance with city blight regulations.

The action follows months of deteriorating conditions at the residence, which local officials and neighbors noted had become an open structure after losing its roof. Debris, including discarded building materials and piles of trash, had accumulated across the front lawn, creating safety hazards and drawing complaints from the community.
