Royalty reigns supreme in Bolognaville

King and Queen winners since the festival’s inception:

• In 1989, the first Bologna Festival was held and the King and Queen were Harry Hudzinski and Rose Lawson. Joining them on the Royal Court were Prince Phil Lindal, Princess Leota Hudzinski and the Royal Buns Jim Williams, Carolyn Roberts, Carla Belfinger and Wayne Chatterton. 
• The second Yale Bologna Festival was 1990 and the King and Queen were Randy Roy and Lydia Whitson. The Court was Prince Ralph Darin, Princess Sharon Krosnicki and the Royal Buns Louanne Worton, Dick Busch, Nancy LePla and Tom Tesluck. 
• The Third Annual Yale Bologna Festival in 1991 was led by King Bill Gleason and Queen Louanne Warner along with Prince Dick Verbeke, Princess Gerri Keith and Royal Buns Holly Anderson, Gary Fuller, Tom Marcetti and Veronica Sleeman.
• The fourth Yale Bologna Festival was held in 1992. The King and Queen of Bologna were Chuck McMillin and Diane Schavillie. They were escorted in their royal duties by Prince Steve Gartner, Princess Michele Weindl and the Royal Buns Louanne Rowe, George Champion, Leona Wojnarowicz and Rusty Smith. 
• The fifth annual Yale Bologna Festival Royalty were King Joe Gibbons, Queen Diane LaPerre, Prince Gary Kettlewell and Princess Jean Mynes. The Royal Buns were Pam and Dave Powers and Doug Smith. 
• King Dick Busch and Queen Darlene Bedy ruled over the sixth annual Yale Bologna Festival in 1994. The rest of the Royals that year were Prince Darin Zisler, Princess Laurie Priess and the Royal Buns Jeff Palmateer and Rhonda Haley.
• The 1995 Yale Bologna Festival was the seventh annual and the King and Queen were Pat Superczynski and Terry Huffman. They were joined by Prince Mike Wynne and Princess Cindy Moore. 
• The eighth annual Yale Bologna Festival was held in 1996 and was honored to have King Mark Kettlewell and Queen Jennie Funk. They were joined on the Royal Court by Prince Dave Mattox and Princess Diana Fields. 
• The ninth Annual Yale Bologna Festival was held in 1997. The King and Queen of Bologna that year were Colby Walters and Carole Weigand. The Prince and Princess were Jay Marginet and Jan Meikle. 
• In 1998, the Yale Area Chamber of Commerce held its 10th annual Yale Bologna Festival. The King and Queen were Mike Weindl and Cindy Bartkowiak along with Prince and Princess Tony Shaieb and Debbie Hill. 
• The Yale Area Chamber of Commerce held its 11th Annual Yale Bologna Festival in 1999. Crowned King that year was Ed Armstrong and the Queen was Cindy Weydeke. The Prince was Gary Oldenburg and the Princess was Janet Chandler.
• In 2000, the Yale Bologna Festival celebrated its 12th year. Crowned King and Queen that year were Pete Schmidt and Kim Singell-Cowhy with Tracy Hoffman as the Prince and Melissa Maness as Princess. 
• The 2001 Royals were King Tom Behnke and Queen Andrea Warner with Prince Scott McPhilimy and Princess Sheri Demaray. The 2001 edition of the festival was the 13th Annual sponsored by the Yale Area Chamber of Commerce.
• The 14th annual Yale Bologna Festival was held in 2002 and the Royals that year were King Timmy Harnden and Queen Angie Lodge along with Prince Bill Quinlin and Princess Johnna Ferguson. 
• The Royalty for the 15th annual Yale Bologna Festival held in 2003 was King Walt Cowhy, Queen Diane Peters, Prince Steve Burgess and Princess Dana Slawinski.
• In 2004, The Yale Bologna Festival was celebrated for the 16th time. The festival’s Royalty was King Mike Stain, Queen Barb Brown-Stasik, Prince Jon Moore and Princess Marcee Watson. 
• In 2005, the Yale Bologna Festival enjoyed another great weekend with its 17th celebration. Crowned King and Queen of the Festival were Kurt Knecht and Joyce Yeashevich with their Prince and Princess being Scott Lawson and Lindsey McMillin. 
• The 2006 festival was the 18th consecutive sponsored by the Yale Area Chamber of Commerce. The King and Queen of the Yale Bologna Festival that year were Tim Bobcean and Carolyn Richards. The Prince and Princess of Bologna were Ralph Warmuskerken and Georgia Hall. 
• In 2007, the Yale Bologna Festival held its 19th celebration of the scrumptious sausage. Crowned Royalty that year were King Sean Lewis and Queen Jana Stuever along with Prince Dale Winkler and Princess Laura Wissel. 
• The 20th Annual Yale Bologna Festival was held in 2008 with Rob Fisher ruling as King and Chris Bobcean wearing the crown of the Queen. Todd Edgerton earned the title of Prince that year and Tree Elliot was named the Princess. 
• The 21st Annual Yale Bologna Festival was held in 2009. Ruling over the festivities that year were King Troy Reinalt and Queen JoAnne Clark-Faille along with Prince Alan Gehle and Princess Kim Snyder. 
• The Royals of 2010 were King Tyler Scott and Queen Heather Reno along with Prince Nick Barg and Princess Darla Wierszewski. It was the 22nd year for the Yale Bologna Festival.
• The 23rd edition of the Yale Bologna Festival was held in 2011. The King was Bob Behnke and the Queen was Lisa Hazzard. The Prince that year was Russ Strickler and the Princess was Angie Snay.
• In 2012, the 24th annual Yale Bologna Festival was celebrated and sponsored by the Yale Area Chamber of Commerce. The King was Tim Stasik and the Queen was Katie Huston. That year, the Prince was Jeff Palmateer with Princess Michelle Cousino. 
• In 2013, the Yale Bologna Festival celebrated its 25th birthday. Crowned King and Queen were Justin Kendzierski and Carrie Marginet along with Prince and Princess Jeff Palmateer and Mary Katz. 
• In 2014, the 26th annual Yale Bologna Festival crowned King Jeff Vore and Queen Haley Kettlewell along with Prince Troy Krosnicki and Princess Kat Hooper. The Royal Buns were Tim Patterson and Brianna Palmateer. 
• Yale held their 27th annual Yale Bologna Festival in 2015 and crowned King and Queen were Anthony Martin and Angie Martin. Prince and Princess were Tony Lanarelli and Kathy Willing.
• The 28th annual Yale Bologna Festival crowned Richie Brown as the King and Ruthann Reinalt as the Queen. Prince and Princess were Ken Pitts and Cat Curtis. 
• In 2017, the royals of the 29th Annual Bologna Festival were King Matthew Busch and Queen Amy Hartzell. Prince and Princess were Pete Norager and Jami Preston.
• The 30th Annual Yale Bologna Festival was held in 2018 and the Royals were King Joe Moza and Queen Shelley O’Brien along with Prince Steve Klug and Princess Debbie Derouin. 
• The 31st Annual Yale Bologna Festival Royals were King Jym Peck and Queen Brenda Krzak along with Prince Carlos Quiroga and Princess Jessica Lawson. 
• The annual Yale Bologna Festivals for 2020 and 2021 were cancelled by the COVIF-19 pandemic.
• The 32nd Annual Yale Bologna Festival Royals were King Matt Loxton and Queen Shelley Benhke, along with Prince Austin Keller and Princess Charlotte Runyon. 
• The Royals for the 33rd Annual Yale Bologna Festival were Princess Patty Pratt, Miss Michigan Teen USA Avery Hill, Queen Tara Aldea, King Brad Runyon and Prince Dave Tyler. 
• Last year, the 34th annual Yale Bologna Festival Royalty was Prince Ed Lozowski, King Jeremy Witmer, Queen Jessie Terry and Princess Jaime Lynn Collick.
