The Novel Page: “Les Misérables” by Victor Hugo

This classic and lengthy novel explores the life of ex-convict Jean Valjean as he searches for redemption after adopting the orphaned Cosette, all while being relentlessly pursued by Inspector Javert.

I will admit that I originally read this story for the challenge, as the unabridged version is approximately 1,200-1,500 pages long.

However, it became one of my all-time favorite books.

The devoted and genuine father-daughter relationship between Jean Valjean and Cosette made this story unforgettable for me.

I highly recommend this classic to adventurous adult readers!
