United Way of St. Clair County kicks off campaign

PORT HURON — The United Way of St. Clair County, a local nonprofit fundraising organization working in human services, hosted a campaign kickoff event at Wrigley Center on Oct. 1.

The organization reiterated a change in operations, shifting from a model that focused on supporting charities and separate programs towards direct individual support. The group shared the plans earlier this year.

Executive Director Sharon Wilton told kickoff attendees that campaign donations have dropped in recent years, which played a role in the organizational shift.

United Way recently completed a move from its downtown Port Huron Military Street location to a new space in Port Huron Township, 3403 Lapeer Road, Ste. B-201.
